.......zero regrets. This journey has led me from despair as a late-stage Baptist, to some semblance of solidity as a nascent Lutheran, to shaken foundations as a relocating Lutheran, and finally back to true solidity in the Orthodox Church.
We are in the Church. And that is enough.
Blessed Nativity, 2019!
Mr. Garner,
ReplyDeleteI just found your website and, and a Lutheran who is greatly attracted to Orthodoxy, I find it fascinating and helpful.
I did try to subscribe, but that function does not seem to work properly.

Hi Tim -- it's good to meet you, virtually speaking. Thank you for the kind words. I'm not sure what the issue is with the subscribe function but I will try to look into it.
ReplyDeleteAs you may know, it is Holy Week for us. It might be a bit of a trip for you, but you are welcome to join us at St. Stephen Orthodox Church in Hiram, Georgia for services. There will be services every evening this week at 6:30, starting with the final Bridegroom Service tonight, Holy Unction tomorrow, the 12 Passion Gospels Thursday, and the Lamentations Service on Friday. Saturday we celebrate the Feast of Holy Pascha beginning at 10:00 PM (that will end well after midnight). I only mention it because it is a good week to sort of get the fullness of the Orthodox Church if you wish to see for yourself. There is almost certainly a parish closer to you, so I completely understand if that is better or if all of this is too much, too soon, but I did want to make the offer.
The Lord bless you in your journey.
